St. Mary's School fosters a rich and challenging environment where your child will grow both academically and spiritually. Our graduates excel in higher education and explore a higher purpose to their lives.
St. Mary's offers students an intellectually rigorous, age-appropriate curriculum that incorporates the latest advances in teaching, technology and child development. Our innovative, comprehensive program provides students with a strong and deep foundation on which to build-- in school and in life. This program meets or exceeds all state requirements and is fully accredited through Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the world's premier accrediting association.
Our students learn that academic achievement is the expectation. Optimal student-teacher ratios, individual attention and outstanding teaching help foster a love of learning and contribute to a climate of excellence. Educational technology-- including SMART Boards, a computer lab and mini computer labs in each class-- enhance instruction.
Each student receives the support needed, whether to reinforce classroom learning or to provide enrichment that goes beyond the curriculum. On-site Title 1 services are provided daily. Speech, occupational and physical therapy are available.
Our faculty is dedicated to our students and to the profession. Teachers either hold or are currently pursuing advanced degrees, and each is certified by both the Diocese of Rochester and the State of New York.
Shared Expectations for Excellence in Development
Shared Expectations for Excellence in Development guides curriculum and instruction in our Rochester Diocese Catholic schools. It was originally published in August 2013 to replace SHAPE 2000 and Beyond… Sharing High Assessment & Performance Expectations.
The guidelines included in this new document are being shared with our faculty and staff, students, parent(s)/guardian(s), and our school communities. The naming of this document and the inclusion of a broader audience was done to reflect our efforts to create a supportive school environment that fulfills our mission. By registering at a Diocese of Rochester school, students and parent(s)/guardian(s) agree to adhere to this document and understand that the Department of Catholic Schools reserves the right to make changes to this document at any time.
Individual schools are expected to publish a school handbook that supplements this document with specific policies and procedures.
